The Time IS Right for Conceiving a Baby

Hello. My name is Lori and my husband’s name is Tony. This is as much his story as it is mine. If you’ve been struggling with conceiving a baby, then I’m so happy that you found this website. I want to share with you our own trials and tribulations in our journey toward realizing our heart’s desire.

What’s the Secret to Conceiving a Baby?

My husband and I had both reached the age of 40. After fifteen years of marriage with ten years of trying to get pregnant, we were so frustrated. All of our friends were busy growing their families and we just couldn’t seem to even get started with our own. I was happy for my girlfriends when they brought home their new babies, but there was such emptiness in my own soul. I actually ached for a baby of our own. I began to wonder what was wrong with me. My husband, Tony, confided that he had started to feel similar feelings. We had a miscarriage at one point that pushed me into a state of depression. Well-meaning friends and family continued to tell us, “It will happen when the time is right.” Time was ticking though, and I wondered if the time to have our own child would ever arrive.

Working at Getting Pregnant

Two years after making an effort to have a child, my husband and I decided we needed to consult a fertility specialist to increase my chances of getting pregnant. We both participated in testing to determine why we were having difficulty conceiving. I had a diagnosis of endometriosis that the physician indicated could be contributing to our inability to easily get pregnant. We tried several rounds of fertility drugs with no success. Not only did I not become pregnant, I suffered with side effects from the medicine. I used a fertility prediction kit religiously from my local drug store. My husband and I knew we couldn’t afford the option of (IVF) In Vitro Fertilization so we began to reluctantly discuss the option of adoption. This option, however, wasn’t truly what we had hoped for all of these years. I felt like we were giving up on a dream.

Finding the Answer

I had just about truly given up hope when I got a phone call from my mother. She told me that she had some information she wanted me to review that might be the answer Tony and I were looking for. She knew how hard Tony and I had been about conceiving a baby.
